Public holidays and festivals in Valencia and Alicante
We are a kitchen in Aspe, and the fiestas set the rhythm of our year, so we know how handy it is to see what is on today, this week or this month. Here you will find the public holidays of the Valencian Community, the fiestas of its towns and the special days, with the dates in order and the source for each one. The calendar updates itself every day. If you are planning a fiesta in your town, see how we handle local fiestas or ask for a quote.

Frequently asked questions
What is being celebrated today in the Valencian Community?
At the top of the calendar you see today: whether it is a regional public holiday, which festivals are under way and whether a special day falls on it. Below that come this week and this month. The page updates itself every day, so you do not need to check the date: what you see is today. If you are after a particular town, filter by province, district (comarca) or municipality.
Is today a public holiday?
The first block of the calendar tells you. There are two kinds of holiday: the regional one, which applies across the whole Valencian Community, and the local one, which varies by municipality. So a day can be a working day in Alicante city and a holiday in your town. If there is a local holiday today, you see how many municipalities have it, and for towns in our area (the Vinalopó, l’Alacantí and nearby) their names too.
How many local holidays does each municipality have?
Two a year. For 2026, the local holidays of 542 Valencian municipalities were published in the DOGV: two for each, except three that the DOGV left undetermined. Aspe, for example, has 12 February (the day of the Jira) and 5 August (Virgen de las Nieves). We add each year’s holidays as soon as they appear; until they are published, the calendar notes that they are still awaiting publication in the DOGV.
Where do the dates in the calendar come from?
Public holidays come from the official texts published in the BOE and the DOGV, the Spanish and Valencian official gazettes. Each town’s fiestas come from the public sources we cite next to every date. When a date is not confirmed or two sources disagree, we do not take it as settled, and it stays off the calendar until it is confirmed. Every date has a link to its source so you can check it yourself.
